About CricketUSA Chargers

CricketUSA (aka OMCC Chargers) is a Maryland Incorporated tax-exempt, non-profit organization. CricketUSA was formed with the idea of providing individuals and clubs a common platform for a high standard of competitive cricket in the Baltimore/Washington DC area.

 CricketUSA is managed by a Board of Directors and each board member is responsible of a task/portfolio assigned to them. Board of Directors may further create committee/s to accomplish certain tasks. The Board of Directors, officers, committee members and general members of CricketUSA are not paid any remuneration, except for reimbursement of expenses on actual basis. Currently all directors are employed in full-time jobs and they put in considerable amount of time and resources to establish CricketUSA as a world class non-profit competitive sports club in the region.

Mission

The aim of the Owings Mills Cricket Club (OMCC) is to provide an opportunity to play cricket to all those interested in this cricket, regardless of age, race, sex, religion or ability. We will try to provide the best level of athletic cooperation and competition while encouraging the best standards of sportsmanship and behavior. Amidst competition, we will embrace the spirit of the game while upholding the traditional values of cricket. As a club, we shall nurture sporting relationships with other cricket teams and enjoy this sport together as a team. This shall be achieved by:

~ Teaching all players about the techniques and spirit of the game
~ Providing a facility where all players can practice and improve their skills, regardless of their ability
~ Providing a safe and secure environment where players can play and practice
~ Encouraging new players to join that will foster maximum participation
~ Ensuring that all players will have the opportunity to play in competitive and friendly matches allowing all to learn the art of sportsmanship and measure their level of ability compared to peers from other clubs

We will stress the values of fairness, good sportsmanship, inclusiveness, friendship and competition. OMCC players want to be proud of their victories while acknowledging and applauding the victors when they suffer a defeat. As players of a single team, we want our players to celebrate each others accomplishments but also be available and supportive in times of failure - skills that will improve each and every one of us in this path of life.
